This privacy statement discloses what information The Avocado Papers gathers about its users and how it is used.

1. Information this site gathers and tracks.

The Avocado Papers gathers two types of information about users:

  • Information that users provide through optional, voluntary submissions, such as when a user uses the "contact" page and provides his or her e-mail address.

  • Information The Avocado Papers gathers through aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page views. Under no circumstances does The Avocado Papers divulge any information about an individual user to a third party.

This site's users can choose to electronically forward a link, page, or documents to someone else by clicking the "email" link that appears on many pages. The user must provide their email address, as well as that of the recipient. This information is used only in the case of transmission errors and, of course, to let the recipient know who sent the email. The information is not used for any other purpose.

Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), The Avocado Papers will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

The Avocado Papers may track user traffic patterns. However, this information is not correllated with data about individual users. The Avocado Papers does break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).

The Avocado Papers may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of users' computers. The cookie itself does not contain Personal Information although it will enable The Avocado Papers to relate users' use of this site to information that users have specifically and knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information supplied by the user. A cookie can't read data off users' hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. The Avocado Papers uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above). The Avocado Papers advertising system delivers a one-time cookie to better track ad impressions and click rates.

Users can refuse cookies by turning them off in their browsers. If a user has set his or her browser to warn before accepting cookies, the user will receive the warning message with each cookie. (This site may not behave as expected if you have cookies turned off.)

2. Use of information.

The Avocado Papers uses any information voluntarily given by its users to enhance their experience, whether to provide interactive or personalized elements or to better prepare future content based on users' interests.

The Avocado Papers never shares newsletter mailing lists with any third parties, including advertisers, sponsors or partners.

The Avocado Papers uses tracking information to determine which areas users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. The Avocado Papers does not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall.

The Avocado Papers creates aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns for advertisers. This allows advertisers to advertise more effectively, and allows users to receive advertisements that are pertinent to their needs. Because The Avocado Papers doesn't track the usage patterns of individual users, an advertiser or sponsor will never know that a specific user clicked their ad. The Avocado Papers will not disclose any information about any individual user except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process or to protect the personal safety of users or the public.

3. User consent.

By using this site, the user consents to the collection and use of this information by The Avocado Papers. If The Avocado Papers decides to change its privacy policy, those changes will be posted on this page so that users are always aware of what information this site collects, how it is used, and under what rare circumstances it would be disclosed.
